Speer Groep values your privacy. This privacy statement explains how we handle your personal data, your rights, and where you can direct any questions or complaints.
This privacy statement applies to applicants applying for positions at Speer IT B.V. or Speerworks B.V., as well as for external personnel hired temporarily (collectively referred to as Speer Groep).

This statement outlines the processing of your personal data when you apply to work with us. Speer Groep prioritizes your privacy and handles your data with care and confidentiality in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy regulations.
3. Personal Data
When you apply for a position, we process the following personal data:
- Name, address, and contact details (NAW data)
- Phone number and email address
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Education level
- CV and cover letter
- Communication content
- Assessment and test reports (if applicable)
- Information on previous employment or internships
- Information related to your suitability for the role
For temporary personnel, we only record data necessary for account creation, authorization, and maintaining contact.
4. Purposes and Legal Bases
Your personal data is processed for handling your application. Specifically, it is used for:
- Recruitment and selection
- Evaluating your suitability for the role
- Processing expenses related to a Certificate of Conduct (VOG)
- Communicating with you and references
- Conducting and evaluating assessments (if applicable)
Processing is based on the intended agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) or compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR). If we request your consent (e.g., to access an assessment report), processing is based on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw consent at any time, but data processed prior to withdrawal remains lawful.
5. Sharing Data with Third Parties
In some cases, we use third-party services, such as recruitment agencies, for the application process. For initiatives like Social Return on Investments or subsidy applications, we may share limited data with your explicit consent. Additionally, we may be required by law to disclose your data.
6. Screening Policy
Speer Groep implements a screening policy to ensure reliable personnel. This involves verifying:
- Identity
- Educational qualifications
- Work experience (via the CV)
Screening levels depend on the role (e.g., staff or IT positions) and is always conducted before a formal job offer is made. References are checked after consultation with the applicant.
7. Screening Guidelines
- Applicants are informed about the screening policy.
- References are only checked with explicit consent.
- Screening results, including sources, are discussed with the applicant.
If relevant information is discovered, it will be shared with and discussed with the applicant.
8. Certificate of Conduct (VOG)
New employees in certain roles must provide a VOG before starting employment. Failure to provide or a negative VOG result leads to termination or non-commencement of employment. External workers, such as interns and contractors, must also provide a VOG and sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
9. Applicant Obligations
During the application process, Speer Groep only asks questions relevant to the role. Applicants must disclose all information significant to the position, such as:
- Lack of necessary skills or qualifications
- Relevant criminal history
- Medical conditions affecting work performance
Failing to disclose relevant information may lead to dismissal.
10. Data Retention
Personal data is retained only as long as necessary. If you are not offered a position, your data will be deleted immediately or within four weeks after the process ends. If we wish to retain your data longer (e.g., for future opportunities), we will request your consent and retain it for no longer than one year.
11. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access, correct, supplement, or restrict your data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to data processing based on personal circumstances
