System Administrator
As a System Administrator at Speer IT, you will be responsible for the smooth running and improvement of our IT systems. And we are looking for you!
Your role
We are currently looking for reinforcement in our IT Management department. Together with five direct colleagues, you are responsible for the maintenance, management and optimisation of our various IT work environments. You do not shy away from installing, configuring and upgrading software and hardware, while keeping a close eye on the backups and security of our network.
What sets you apart within the team is your role as the go-to person to whom colleagues can turn for all their IT-related needs and challenges. You expertly install PCs, peripherals and mobile devices, set them up efficiently and ensure smooth operation. You quickly register and process daily malfunctions, accurately documenting systems in the configuration database. Not only do you solve problems, but you also actively contribute to continuous process improvements and better service, optimising the overall working environment.
You’re also comfortable documenting your work and procedures in a clear and practical way, so your colleagues (technical or not) can easily follow along.
In this position, you will mainly work internally for our organisation and in support of your colleagues — and therefore to a lesser extent for our customers.
This is what you will bring
- Minimum 2 years of experience where you have proven yourself as a System Administrator.
- Working knowledge of Azure or AWS, VMware, and installing databases (Oracle, Postgres).
- You understand the basics of network configuration: switches, firewalls, subnets and VPNs.
- You are proud of your Microsoft certifications — or you are eager to get them.
- You are familiar with Windows 11 and cloud environments, and ready to grow further.
- CCNA certification is an advantage, but not a must.
- You have strong analytical skills.
- You are accurate, result-oriented, independent and can set objective priorities.
- You can take responsibility, work together, and have good communication skills.
