Your role

As an experienced Front-end Engineer, you will work at Speer IT within one of our IT teams working together in an agile way. In this team, a group of passionate, dedicated and motivated developers work together. With this team, you work in two weekly sprints on Cocon Fiber, our state-of-the-art platform for fibre registration.

You are involved in developing the (web) front-ends of our products. These front-ends are the calling card for our users in terms of appearance, performance and user-friendliness. End users work directly with your creation, which motivates you every day to create a fantastic user experience.

A GIS web front-end has its own challenges due to the large amounts of data that need to be presented clearly and quickly. You are therefore involved in various aspects, from user-interface design to architecture.

You realise better than anyone that a web front-end is an application in itself with its own architecture, specific tooling and its own design patterns. You have a strong opinion about what such an architecture should look like and how it can optimally interact with the underlying API platform. You are also able to contribute to the design of the APIs the front-end uses.

You are aware of the latest technology in the field of web front-end development and are able to take on a pulling and coaching role in this.

You are motivated, curious and like to keep up with the latest developments in your field. In addition, you are adaptable and a pleasant person to work with.

This is what you will bring

• Experience with programming languages javascript and C# and .NET.

• Experience with postgreSQL/Oracle DB.

• Experience with Git.

• Experience with REST Api’s, Micro services (pre).

• Experience with entity framework, LINQ (pre).

• Knowledge of Linux environments (pre).

• Strong analytical skills and good at problem solving.

• Hands-on attitude.

• Experience with working in agile teams.

• HBO working and thinking level.

• Knowledge of building SPAs using a modern front-end framework (e.g. Angular, React and/or VueJS).

• Knowledge of the design and use of APIs.

• Enthusiasm for discovering new web tools and thinking about the frameworks we use.

• Familiar with CI/CD principles in a front-end stack, combined with a passion for quality.

• Knowledge of UX principles leading to a user-friendly front-end.

• Experience with Typescript(= pre)/Javascript.

• Experience with GIS front-ends and technology is a plus.

• Experience with cloud environments (Azure/AWS).

• Able to coach other (junior) Front-enders.

• At least five years of relevant experience in the field
