Technical Support Engineer

Are you an (experienced) Technical Support Engineer or just very tech savvy in making new, unfamiliar applications your own? Then Speer IT might be the right place for you! For this role, you do not need to have all the technical knowledge, but you will make us very happy if you feel comfortable when troubleshooting technical issues and are able to help customers in a patient and understandable way.

Your role

We are currently looking for reinforcement in our Service Desk department. Here, you are the first point of contact for all our B2B customers. As a Technical Support Engineer, based on your knowledge and skills, you will handle first- and/or second-line questions related to our applications, including Cocon and CoconTheWeb. You will also come into contact with Azure, AWS, Oracle and web services.

Our applications are used by major leading telecom companies in Europe to register all their fibre-optic infrastructures. Because our software is completely built by our own developers and fully managed in-house, almost all questions within Service Desk relate purely to the applications we build. No worries! Fortunately, we have in-house trainers and colleagues who will show you the way and are happy to share all the necessary knowledge with you!

What will you do?

  • Contact with customers who have technical or functional questions and helping them in a patient and understanding manner.
  • Solve first- and second-line issues within your area of expertise.
  • Timely detection of technical problems and risks and, if possible, resolving them immediately.
  • Thinking along about possible improvements in the area of customer contact and processes.
  • Registering issues and reporting them to the appropriate stakeholders if necessary.
  • Resolving and deploying a variety of second- and third-line issues in an adequate and timely manner.
  • Continuously working on your own development!

This is what you will bring

  • MBO/HBO working and thinking level.
  • (Basic) knowledge of SQL, Microsoft 365, Remote Desktop and JIRA.
  • You have strong analytical thinking skills.
  • You are accurate, results-oriented, independent and can set objective priorities.
  • You can take responsibility, work together and have good communication skills.
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch.
  • Do you speak German or French? That is an advantage.
